The client wanted a kitchen that would work as a gathering space, not just a place to cook. The fronts were built from board finished in dark wood with continuous vertical fluting, both on the lower units and on the tall columns housing the oven and coffee machine. The central island carries a single-piece marble countertop and waterfall end, with black-and-brass fittings. On the wall units, we combined fluted doors with fluted glass panels framed in brass, lit from within. We designed and built every piece in our workshop, fitted to the millimetre for this kitchen.

The main challenge was keeping the same vertical fluting pattern — with no visible joins or grain mismatches — across very large surfaces: the lower fronts, the appliance columns and the wall units. The smallest misalignment between separately produced panels shows immediately in a repeating pattern like this one. By cutting and milling every board in our own plant, on the same machine settings, we guaranteed the fluting ran uninterrupted from one piece of furniture to the next — something difficult to achieve when pieces are produced across different workshops.
